![The point is not that he could ‘pass’ as biracial BUT that he isn’t really.
The idea here is that there’s not enough Biracial/POC actors in the spotlight and this here would’ve been a damned good chance for on of those actors to have a chance.
(and yes, he may be like a tiny part Greek [and this would never have come up at all if him playing biracial character wasn’t the case] but really, I’m a lot sure Four’s mother is African American and POC people aren’t interchangeable)
He’s not the actor I would’ve picked at all. Like, he might be able to ‘act’ like four, but there probably is a POC/Biracial actor out there who could do the job just the same
also think about the fact that all information we got about four’s casting prior to this was the idea that some other white dude could’ve been four.
And yes, the Author made comments on how good he will be as four and yet makes no remarks on the fact that casting a dude like this as a biracial dude was wrong
I mean think about how Cassandra Clare had to make it a specific part of her agreements in selling the film rights to have Magnus cast as an Asian/biracial dude.
It’s not a fair industry out there and consistently having white people play characters that were supposed to be POC.
